October 2026 Events You Don’t Want to Miss in DFW

October is one of the best times to explore Dallas–Fort Worth. The weather begins to cool down, pumpkin displays appear across the Metroplex, and the calendar fills with festivals, family activities, date-night ideas, and Halloween fun.

Whether you’re new to North Texas or simply looking for something different to do this fall, here are a few DFW events worth adding to your October calendar.

State Fair of Texas

Dates: September 25–October 18, 2026
Location: Fair Park, Dallas

Nothing says fall in DFW quite like the State Fair of Texas. Spend the day enjoying live music, midway rides, shopping, exhibits, and, of course, all the creative fair food you can handle.

This is a great option for families, friend groups, or anyone who wants the full Texas fall experience. Be sure to take a picture with Big Tex while you’re there.

Make the Most of Fall in North Texas

One of my favorite things about living in DFW is that there is always something happening nearby. From Dallas and Arlington to Fort Worth and Denton, every part of the Metroplex offers its own version of fall fun.

Event details can change, so confirm schedules, ticket availability, and admission information with each organizer before heading out.

Are you thinking about making North Texas home? I help buyers, sellers, renters, and investors navigate the DFW market with confidence. Let’s find the community that feels right for your next chapter.
